Remote positioning with new freshwater motor from Lowrance

Lowrance kit on fishing boat

Lowrance has launched its Ghost X 47-inch trolling motor, as well as a software update.

Jeremiah Clark, VP & general manager, fishing systems at Navico Group says the motor adds another powerful tool to the company’s fishing system.

“The Ghost X was designed with direct input from customers, allowing us to make meaningful improvements based on their needs. It offers unmatched positioning accuracy, greatly enhanced power, and intuitive control.

“Paired with Lowrance’s top-tier sonar technology, this all-encompassing system allows anglers to eliminate distractions and concentrate solely on what matters most – catching fish.”

It’s for freshwater use.

The new trolling motor includes an indicator that provides accuracy and visibility for both sonar and motor direction. Its raised chevrons add a sleek design which works for maximum visibility from all around the boat. It also delivers a 20 per cent increase in thrust compared to the original Ghost trolling motor, but operates as the quietest motor yet, ensuring a stealth approach.

There’s an integrated foot pedal and has an optional GPS remote, which will be shipping in Q3 of 2025. That means users can make positional changes from anywhere onboard. Plus there’s a new LED indicator light ring providing information on mode status, pairing status and battery life.

The motor has sonar integration capabilities and is compatible with Lowrance ActiveTarget 2 mounting brackets, providing access to live sonar.

The precision indicator will be offered as a retrofit upgrade kit for all current Ghost trolling motors (for purchase through Lowrance’s service centre network).

It starts at £3,613.33 and is available with a 47-inch shaft. It comes with a lifetime shaft warranty and three-year motor warranty.

Software update

Lowrance has also released software update 25.2. The company says it is packed with innovative trolling motor features, significant enhancements to ActiveTarget 2 and expanded third-party integrations.

“This software release reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering smarter, more intuitive tools that help anglers fish more effectively and efficiently,” says Clark. “From our new advanced trolling motor controls to sharper sonar imaging and seamless third-party integration, every feature is purposefully designed to give anglers more confidence, control and improve their time on the water.”
