Maritime businesses, charities, and organisations operating in the Solent region have been invited to put their names forward for the 2025 Maritime Solent Awards, as entries officially open for the fourth edition.

Organised by Maritime Solent, the industry-led partnership that promotes the region’s maritime economy on a global stage, the awards aim to spotlight achievement, innovation, and talent across all areas of the maritime sector. This year sees the introduction of two new categories recognising excellence in Maritime Defence and Maritime Logistics. Submissions are open until 8 August 2025.

Anne-Marie Mountifield, Chair of Maritime Solent, describes the awards as a “key part of the industry’s calendar.”

“We have so much to celebrate and providing this platform to showcase our region’s incredible maritime sector, from emerging talent to the legacies of individuals who have spent a career contributing to the success of maritime in the Solent, is a real privilege,” adds Mountifield.

In addition to the awards, Maritime Solent is currently seeking applications for its next Charity of the Year. Maritime-related charities based in the Solent area are invited to apply before the 31 July 2025 deadline. The selected charity will be announced at a finalist celebration at Carnival House, Southampton, on 24 September 2025, with the partnership offering valuable exposure and engagement opportunities.

Last year’s Charity of the Year was Rona Sailing Project, a volunteer-based organisation focused on sail training for young people aged 14 to 25.

The awards ceremony will take place on 23 October 2025, attracting over 300 maritime professionals, business leaders, and representatives from across the sector. The evening provides both recognition for industry excellence and opportunities for networking and collaboration.

With a network of more than 1,200 maritime professionals and organisations, Maritime Solent hopes this year’s awards will reflect the continued strength and diversity of the region’s maritime economy.

Further details, including how to submit entries and apply for Charity of the Year, are available on their website.
