RAD Propulsion — British manufacturer of electric outboards — has expanded its international dealer network with new partnerships in the Netherlands, India and Japan.

In the Netherlands, Energyboats becomes RAD’s official dealer for the Benelux region. The company works exclusively with fully electric vessels and suppliers that prioritise electric motor technology from the outset. “In our view, only then can a fully-fledged alternative to the traditional combustion engine be created,” says Duco Snijder, owner of Energyboats. “RAD is one of the few manufacturers that truly understands this and has developed an excellent product.”

The partnership focuses on the professional and government sectors, targeting users such as boat builders, the nautical police, research agencies and environmental and water management authorities across the Benelux region.

In India, Enviroshift will introduce RAD’s electric propulsion systems to the local market, supporting applications across fishing, tourism, defence and the growing USV (Uncrewed Surface Vehicle) sector. Enviroshift says it is working to promote a transition from fossil fuel-based systems to electric alternatives that do not require significant vessel modification, with the potential to reduce both capital and operational expenditure.

Enviroshift and RAD will also collaborate with The Sustainability Group through the FuturePlus platform, allowing customers to monitor and improve their sustainability impact. “RAD’s electric propulsion system is a breakthrough in the marine industry,” said Indiragandhi, director of Enviroshift Solutions, “and our partnership ensures that sustainable innovation reaches the segments that need it most.”

In Japan, EV Boat Sales (EBS) has joined as RAD’s representative. The company will focus on promoting RAD’s drive systems, including features such as RADBus connectivity and integrated drive-by-wire steering with a 180° range.

“It has been such a pity that customers have the desire to go green and go electrified, yet in the end, are blocked by fear due to limited awareness or access to an easy-to-operate and fit-out product line,” said Kuto Kiyoto, sales president at EV Boat Sales. “We believe RAD will be the game changer not only in Japan but also in a lot of APAC areas.” The companies will explore opportunities in government tenders, regional transport, and agriculture-related maritime use, with future plans to introduce autonomous capabilities using AI technologies.

Dan Hook, CEO of RAD Propulsion, adds: “We’re thrilled to welcome these forward-thinking companies to our growing dealer network. Each partner brings deep local expertise and a shared passion for electric energy on the water, enabling us to deliver superior propulsion solutions to customers across these vital markets.”

Earlier this year, renewable energy firm Seavolt and RAD Propulsion announced a new partnership to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in Australia and the Pacific.
