Technical Marine Supplies launches rigging safety campaign

Specialist marine trade distributor Technical Marine Supplies has launched an awareness campaign focused on yacht rigging safety.

The UK-wide initiative, named Check it, Tune it, Trust it, encourages boat owners to monitor the condition of their rigging before issues develop.

Nick Cook of Technical Marine Supplies says: “Rigging is the backbone of every sailing vessel, yet it’s often overlooked until failure occurs. This initiative promotes a structured, preventative approach to rigging maintenance — in collaboration with local riggers, leading hardware manufacturers, and marine surveyors, we are encouraging vessel owners to engage with their local rigger, and see what (if any) preventive maintenance is required.

“Missing out a simple rig check by a professional rigger can escalate a small issue into a rather costly repair. This campaign hopefully highlights that and keeps the client sailing, safely.”

The campaign promotes engagement between boat owners and rigging professionals who can advise on inspection schedules and maintenance procedures to extend the lifespan of rigging systems.

Technical Marine Supplies is also inviting industry partners — including riggers, OEMs, refit yards, chandlers and marina offices — to participate in the initiative. Supporting materials such as posters are available from the company for display in rigging lofts, marina offices and refit yards.

Customers are being invited to join in the campaign with the hashtag #ChecktItTuneItTrustIt and tagging @TechnicalMarineSupplies on social media.
