Inland and Coastal will present its latest developments in floating structure design at Metstrade 2025 in Amsterdam, which takes place from 18–20 November.
The company’s participation follows managing director Ollie Shortall’s presentation at ICOMIA 2025 in Venice, which explored the application of precast concrete technology in marina infrastructure.
At the event next week, Inland and Coastal will demonstrate how precast concrete systems can enhance the strength, flexibility and sustainability of floating structures. The firm says this approach helps to develop pontoons adaptable for a range of commercial and leisure uses.
“Innovating with precast technology means we can now build floating platforms of almost unlimited size, with exceptional precision and quality,” says Shortall. “It allows us to manufacture pontoons to a very high Eurocode standard, transport them easily and join them on site to form large, complex structures without compromising on performance or durability.”

The technology has been applied in recent projects, including Banagher Pool and Jeanie Johnston, which highlight Inland and Coastal’s ongoing focus on engineering development in waterfront and marina construction.
To provide further insight, Inland and Coastal will hold a lunchtime session titled “Pontoon innovation: Redefining floating structures with precast technology” on Wednesday 19 November at 1pm (CET), stand 05.723. Presented by managing director Ollie Shortall and sales manager Bryan Stewart, the session will outline the company’s recent special projects and discuss how these contribute to evolving marina design practices.
“This will be an informal, engaging session – a chance to take a break, grab a bite and explore what’s next in pontoon design and technology,” says Shortall.
The talk is organised in partnership with The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA), with industry professionals and TYHA members invited to attend.
Representatives from Inland and Coastal will be available throughout the three-day show on stand 05.723 in Hall 5 to discuss project requirements and product solutions. Enquiries can be directed to the team via email.
