British adventure yacht builder Arksen has offered a digital preview of the first model in its new Adventure Series – the Arksen 55. The 17.3-metre vessel offers a range of 350 nautical miles at 25 to 30 knots and a claimed top speed of 50 knots, with hull one due for completion at the end of 2026.
Shaped by generations of Finnish craftsmanship, the Arksen 55 is designed by Jarkko Jämsén, engineered by Arksen and Aivan, and built by Kewatec – a leader in high-performance professional, naval, rescue and Arctic vessels.
Designed from the inside out
Rugged, adaptable and built for active use, the builder says the Arksen 55 is designed for a self-driven, experience-led way of life.
The Arksen 55 provides a full-beam saloon where the unique four-door layout and dual side walkways help ensure pathways remain clear even with a full crew. Whether returning from snorkelling off the aft deck or stepping off the beach via the bow ramp, guests can transition straight to the lower accommodations without disturbing anyone relaxing in the saloon raised seating area.
Below the deck, a utility area combines a galley with a practical workshop. Modular shelving holds semi-transparent boxes to keep gear organised, and a drying cabinet manages wet clothing.
A washing machine, dryer and dishwasher are housed here too, freeing up space above. There is versatile sleeping accommodation for up to eight people and full standing headroom below deck.
The defining feature of the general arrangement is the full-beam pilothouse, which brings both navigation and dining onto the main deck. The saloon connects with the outdoors and raised seating keeps your view on the horizon.
The pilothouse seating can adapt from a full U-shape layout to an L-shape with additional galley space, depending on requirements.
The interior layout offers several accommodation configurations to suit different needs. The forward cabin includes a double berth with a private bathroom and toilet. The aft section can be arranged with different cabin layouts, providing beds for up to four people with a bathroom positioned beside the utility area, making it easy for everyone to access as a day head and shower.
Through owner customisation, capacity for dive equipment, kayaks, research tools or motorcycles can be provided.
Lifetime durability
Engineered to comply with ISO 12215 standard and built from marine-grade aluminium, the Arksen 55 design focuses heavily on durability and seamanship.
Each yacht is constructed at a shipyard specialising in professional vessels including first responders and search and rescue craft, bringing extreme levels of durability and seaworthiness. The double-stepped deep-V hull is designed to provide excellent seakeeping and stability with the full-length integrated fenders protecting both the vessel and everyone onboard during use.
