IP Corporation is now bringing a wider selection of its marine bonding compounds and adhesives together under the COR-Grip Pro brand.
The expanded range reflects the variety of bonding and finishing tasks involved in modern composite boatbuilding, from structural assembly through to fairing and specialised applications. IP Corporation says its aim is to give manufacturers a broader set of materials while maintaining consistency across the build process.
The move will bring together a family of marine-focused products designed to support boat manufacturers across critical composite construction and assembly applications.
Built on the performance of the COR-Grip product line in marine composites, COR-Grip Pro includes application-specific solutions for hull-to-deck assembly, stringer and bulkhead bonding, core bedding, radius and fillet formation, fairing, transom construction, sprayable composite applications, and specialised fire-retardant or corrosion-resistant marine requirements.
Range covers key composite construction applications
“Boat manufacturers require bonding and assembly materials that deliver strength, consistency, workability, and dependable finished-part quality,” says AJ Aldaco, business manager (pictured).

“COR-Grip Pro gives marine OEMs access to a broad portfolio of proven bonding compounds and adhesives, allowing them to select the right product for each boat-building application while benefiting from Interplastic and HK Research’s decades of technical expertise and customer support.”
IP Corporation and subsidiaries are specialty chemical companies with their headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Interplastic is an IP Corporation subsidiary which focuses on the production and sale of unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins, gel coats, putties and colorants for the composites and cast polymer industries. Meanwhile, HK Research looks after gel coat colour performance and production.
Designed for production efficiency and finished-boat quality
The COR-Grip Pro family is developed to support the way modern boats are designed and built, including structural bonding of composite components, bedding of cores in hulls and decks, filling strakes and voids, creating smooth radii and fillets, improving cosmetic fairing, supporting durable transom construction, and enabling production-friendly sprayable applications. Details of products made by the IP Corporation are on its website.
The Minnesota-based company says that key benefits of the COR-Grip Pro system include engineered compatibility with IP Corporation resin and gel coat technologies, strong adhesion for FRP-to-FRP bonding, low-shrink and void-free consistency, excellent vertical hang and pumpability, improved manufacturing efficiency, weight-conscious construction options, and enhanced finished-boat quality.
