SeaSure launches AI marine intelligence platform at IBEX 2026

Shawn Gross - Founder of SeaSure

SeaSure will launch ‘the world’s first vessel-specific marine data intelligence platform’ at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference (IBEX), October 6-8, 2026, at the Tampa Convention Center.

Built around 12 specialised marine AI agents, SeaSure is designed to connect vessel-specific information, live remote support, and service outcomes to help owners resolve issues and turn field experience into intelligence for service professionals, builders, and suppliers.

New SeaSure AI platform connects vessel data across boat lifecycle

Featured in the Start-Up Pavilion presented in collaboration with Yachting Ventures at IBEX, SeaSure will demonstrate how a shared intelligence layer supports boat owners, service professionals, builders, and suppliers throughout a vessel’s lifecycle. The launch follows nearly three years of development and testing.

SeaSure tackles a persistent industry problem: essential vessel data exists but is fragmented across specifications, records, manuals, warranties, service systems, onboard data, and owner and technician observations. SeaSure centralises these sources around each vessel, creating usable context for decision-makers.

Shawn Gross, founder and CEO of SeaSure, says: “The marine industry doesn’t lack information; it has a fragmentation problem. Separated data forces owners to repeat history, leaves technicians with incomplete context, and hides valuable field insights from builders. SeaSure connects that information to put it to work.”

SeaSure tackles marine data fragmentation with new AI platform

At the platform’s centre are 12 marine AI agents, each specialised in vessel domains such as engines, electrical systems, navigation, and rigging. An orchestration layer coordinates the specialists when an issue crosses systems, allowing an apparent engine problem to be evaluated against fuel, cooling, electrical, control, and recent service information at the same time.

The agents draw on a marine knowledge base of more than 26,000 pages of manuals, service records, field cases, indexed discussions, and other technical material, together with instructional video. Each agent is supported by its own continuous training and evaluation loop.

SeaSure uses reinforcement learning and other machine-learning methods to improve performance from validated technician feedback, confirmed service outcomes, and permissioned field data from boaters and marine businesses. Proprietary and vessel data remains fully protected and is subject to access, data-isolation, and security controls.

Built for boaters and the businesses that serve them

SeaSure streamlines how boat owners maintain, understand, diagnose, and resolve onboard issues using their boat’s actual equipment, documents, and service history without requiring owners to re-enter information already contained in their records.

With guided troubleshooting, repair guidance, real-time support, and diagnostic context for professional handoffs, SeaSure gives owners a clearer picture of their boat’s condition and a more complete starting point when they hand off to a professional.

For service businesses, SeaSure carries the same vessel-specific intelligence into the entire service workflow. Teams can import existing customer, vessel, and service records; review installed equipment, manuals, prior repairs, owner-reported symptoms, photos, and AI diagnostic context before work begins; and manage scheduling, estimates, work orders, parts, invoices, customer communications, and reporting from one connected platform.

Remote warranty and service management

SeaSure Live enables real-time video support where remote providers, builders, or suppliers can view onboard issues directly. They review the vessel’s configuration, history, and prior diagnostics alongside live conditions to deliver faster, more informed assistance. For builders and suppliers, this creates a structured remote warranty and service workflow.

A support team may resolve the issue without a dispatch, or escalate it with a more complete record of symptoms, observations, likely systems involved, and possible parts requirements. Session summaries, supporting media, decisions, and completed work remain connected to the vessel’s history, reducing repeated intake and preserving what was learned.

A connected vessel lifecycle

The vessel record can begin before the boat leaves the factory with specifications, installed components, manuals, inspection results, quality procedures, warranties, and compliance information. Sales and dealer teams can use manufacturer-approved information tied to the actual configuration, and owners can receive a populated record at delivery instead of starting with an empty application.

Once the boat enters service, owner questions, maintenance activity, warranty events, component replacements, technician observations, and service outcomes add to that record. As authorised stakeholders use the platform and contribute information, SeaSure can capture structured inputs across the vessel lifecycle. For authorised builders and suppliers, patterns across those interactions may reveal documentation gaps, recurring installation or access issues, training needs, component trends, and future parts demand.

The same information that supports an immediate repair can then inform better customer support, product decisions, and future builds.

Gross is a lifelong boater and a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary who began developing SeaSure after repeatedly struggling to find timely, reliable answers onboard.

Before founding SeaSure, Gross held roles at Apple Computer and Sun Microsystems, later acquired by Oracle, and launched Digital Millennial Consulting in 2006. Over more than two decades, he has designed complex, data-driven decision-support systems for government and educational institutions in the United States and internationally.

“SeaSure applies the same discipline required in any complex decision-support environment: connect disparate sources, preserve the context, and deliver the right information to the person making the decision. In boating, that person may be an owner, technician, warranty manager, product engineer, or builder. Every resolved problem should improve the next service interaction—and ultimately the next boat,” Gross adds.
