Online boat marketplace Rightboat has launched an iOS app that lets buyers search its global inventory on an iPhone. It is initially available through the Apple App Store.
Buyers can browse listings from professional brokers, dealers and private sellers, narrow their searches and view boat specifications alongside photographs and seller details. Private seller listings are limited to the US and boats with an asking price of $50,000 or less.
Users can receive alerts when boats matching their search become available, rather than running the same search again. They can also revisit boats they are considering and contact sellers directly through the app.
The launch follows a busy period for Rightboat, with the company expanding its North American team with sales and customer success appointments, and the recent appointment of Evan Davis as account director for North America.
Earlier this month, the firm debuted a new ChatGPT plugin to help brokers and dealers connect with prospective buyers researching boats through AI-powered conversations.
‘More opportunities to stay visible’
“Mobile is an important way for Rightboat to connect with the boating community,” says Josie Tucci, vice president of marketing at Rightboat. “For buyers, it places a global choice of boats within easy reach, throughout the day. For brokers and dealers, it creates more opportunities for their inventory to stay visible and be discovered by people actively considering their next boat.”
The app allows buyers to pick up their search across multiple sessions, whether they are researching at home or comparing boats at a show. It also gives brokers and dealers another channel for their listings to reach buyers.
“Our product focus was simple: make the essential parts of a boat search work naturally on mobile,” says Joe Lingerfelt, product director at Rightboat. “Buyers can browse detailed listings, contact sellers and receive alerts when relevant boats appear. Each feature is designed to reduce effort and help people move more easily from browsing to a direct conversation with a seller.”
Rightboat reports more than 650,000 visitors to its platform each month. It lists more than 30,000 new and used boats across over 60 countries, representing more than 1,000 manufacturers. Its inventory includes powerboats and sailing vessels, from catamarans to motor yachts.
The company also provides marketplace services, lead generation and digital marketing tools for marine businesses.
