Vetus has introduced the E-Line 22 kW electric propulsion system, expanding its existing E-Line range.
The model, which is positioned within the company’s electric propulsion line-up, is designed for use on a range of recreational and small commercial vessels.
The E-Line 22 kW has an output of 22 kW and a maximum torque of 130nm. According to Vetus, the motor is designed to deliver an immediate response under throttle input and controlled deceleration when required.
The propulsion unit incorporates range management software intended to make the battery bank remain efficient under various operating conditions. Sailing Assist firmware helps manage acceleration, cruising efficiency and emergency stop functions.
The E-Line 22 kW is supplied as a complete propulsion package and requires selecting a compatible control lever and cooling system. Cooling options include keel cooling and freshwater cooling. The motor features a compact footprint and can be installed on a wide range of existing engine foundations.
The system uses a modular architecture, allowing components to be added or changed over time. Available options include different control levers, shunts and display units, enabling configurations to be adapted to vessel type and operating requirements.
Vetus notes that a growing number of inland and coastal waterways in Europe are designated as green zones, where electric propulsion is required. The E-Line 22 kW is intended to support access to these areas while maintaining propulsion capability suitable for larger electric vessels.
The E-Line 22 kW is available for vessels up to 15m (50ft) in length, with a displacement of up to 20 tonnes.
Vetus was founded in 1964 and designs and manufactures onboard boat systems for recreational and small commercial vessels. The company is headquartered in the Netherlands and operates through a network of representatives in 17 countries.
Vetus forms part of the Yanmar Marine Recreational Business Unit, which includes Yanmar, Maxwell, Flexofold and Smartgyro.
