Lowrance has introduced its new ActiveTarget 2 XL live sonar at boot Düsseldorf. The fishing electronics giant says the ActiveTarget 2 XL is the brand’s most advanced live sonar system to date. It features surface-to-surface 180-degree views, designed to provide unmatched clarity and coverage in real time.

Yasser Nafei, president of electronic solutions for Navico Group, says: “At Lowrance, we’re committed to elevating the fishing experience through innovation, and ActiveTarget 2 XL is a perfect example of that dedication. With the sharpest, most comprehensive live sonar on the market, anglers gain expanded views, intuitive control, and by adding two systems together*, the ability to unlock the industry’s first 360-degree live Scout view.

“This breakthrough technology is a powerful addition to the Ultimate Fishing System, helping anglers spend less time adjusting their transducers and more time catching.”

Building on the award-winning ActiveTarget 2 platform, the new XL transducer features an ultra-clear resolution and a 180-degree field of vision – spanning Forward, Down and Scout modes from a single transducer. The brand claims the full-screen display captures every detail, from the moment the lure drops to the strike itself, offering anglers unparalleled situational awareness and precision.

The redesigned XL transducer allows anglers to toggle between Forward XL and Down XL views directly from the display, with no manual adjustments required. A new bracket, compatible with both shaft and motor mounts**, enables transition into Scout mode. Once activated, built-in reference markers guide anglers to the optimal angle for both deep and shallow water, improving accuracy.

ActiveTarget 2 XL is a one-time upgrade with no additional gear needed for installation. Anglers can mount the XL transducer and start fishing, using their existing ActiveTarget 2 sonar module to minimise setup and maximise time on the water.

The product is compatible with HDS PRO (launched in 2022), HDS Live, HDS Carbon and Elite FS.

For those seeking total situational awareness, combining two XL systems* introduces an industry-first: 360-degree Scout XL live view around the entire boat. This is designed to enable anglers to identify the perfect casting spot without repositioning. Running multiple transducers also enables simultaneous viewing of Forward XL, Down XL and Scout XL views, eliminating the need to lift the trolling motor at all.

Lowrance ActiveTarget 2 XL transducer upgrade starts at US$1,399 and is available now.

*Dual sonar modules and transducers required, HDS PRO only

**Motor mount exclusive to Recon Trolling Motors
