Navicork cork decking has been specified as standard across the Canna One range of electric runabouts, with the company highlighting the material’s comfort, durability and sustainability credentials.
The Canna One combines a classic runabout design with electric propulsion, while Navicork FD01 cork decking has been integrated throughout the cockpit as a standard feature.
According to Navicork, the cork decking has been selected to support everyday use on board through its natural anti-slip properties, thermal comfort and sound-dampening characteristics. The company says the material remains comfortable underfoot in warm conditions while helping to soften footfall, complementing the quieter experience associated with electric propulsion.
Navicork also says the cork surface contributes to the boat’s visual design, creating a natural contrast with the Canna One’s wood detailing.
Supporting sustainability
Navicork says the FD01 decking is manufactured from cork and has a negative carbon footprint of -0.97kg CO₂e/m² in its 6mm version and -0.69kg CO₂e/m² in its 8mm version.
The decking also forms part of Canna One’s overall design approach, which combines traditional runabout styling with electric propulsion and natural materials.
Canna Boats, a Polish manufacturer of electric boats, says its range is designed to blend classic styling with more sustainable propulsion technology. Navicork, part of Amorim Cork Solutions, develops cork decking systems for the marine industry using cork composite materials.
