WireCo appoints Luis Padilla as chief operating officer for North America

Wire and synthetic rope solutions firm WireCo has appointed Luis Padilla as chief operating officer, North America, reporting to chief executive officer Keith White.

In his new role, Padilla will lead WireCo’s North American business, driving regional execution, customer service standards and operational performance in support of the group’s profitable growth strategy.

Commenting on the appointment, White says: “Luis brings a rare combination of deep industry knowledge, technical expertise and proven executive leadership. His experience leading complex, multi-site businesses and driving meaningful operational improvement will be highly valuable as we continue strengthening our North American organisation. I am confident he will make an immediate and lasting contribution to WireCo.”

Padilla brings nearly 30 years of rope industry experience to the position. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of Knowix, leading the development of an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform focused on predictive analytics and digital monitoring technologies for rope applications.

Prior to Knowix, Padilla spent nearly 15 years with Cortland Company, ultimately serving as president.

Padilla is also a recognised leader within the global cordage industry, having served multiple terms as president of the Cordage Institute. He holds several US patents related to advanced rope technologies, structural health monitoring and Industrial Internet of Things applications.
