Viggo Boats has appointed Vortec Marine as its exclusive dealer for the UK and Ireland. The partnership aligns Viggo’s focus on premium hybrid aluminium vessels with Vortec’s established presence in the market, strengthening both companies’ commitment to performance, innovation and sustainable marine solutions.

Vortec Marine has bases in Swanwick and Gosport and will act as the exclusive point of contact for all Viggo Boat enquiries in the UK & Ireland, offering test drives, technical demonstrations, and full sales and aftercare support for both professional and private clients.

“Vortec Marine’s technical expertise, established reputation, and deep understanding of the UK marine market make them the ideal partner for Viggo Boats,” says Erik Wickgren, CEO of Öregrund Marine Service AB, manufacturer of Viggo Boats. “As interest in sustainable, zero-emission boating accelerates in the UK, we are confident Vortec will represent our brand with the passion and precision it deserves.”

The partnership comes at a pivotal time for the UK marine sector, as commercial operators, harbours and private owners increasingly seek greener alternatives. Based in Öregrund, Sweden, Viggo Boats has built a reputation for high-performance, hand-crafted aluminium vessels. The company’s portfolio ranges from high-speed leisure craft to energy efficient cruising models.

The Viggo C8 and its refined version, the C8.1, are compact yet powerful vessels designed for swift and safe year-round travel. Measuring 8.2 metres and with claimed top speeds ranging from 45 to 65 knots, they are rugged and fast. The C8.1 offers improved hull dynamics and a redesigned helm station for modern navigation.

The Viggo X8 is a versatile open boat suitable for family outings while the Viggo C10 Offshore features a deep-V hull and advanced trim systems, ensuring stability in challenging sea conditions.

The latest addition, the Viggo C11 Cruiser, is built for efficient cruising at lower speeds and comes with an all-electric drivetrain and offers modular options for future propulsion technologies.

“Viggo boats are some of the most exciting developments we’ve seen in sustainable marine engineering,” says Ross Collingwood, founder and managing director of Vortec Marine. “They provide a real solution for professionals and private owners who need serious range, functionality, and year-round reliability – without compromising on sustainability. They are built for those who appreciate true seamanship. We’re proud to bring these Nordic-built powerhouse to UK waters.”

In June 2025, Vortec was also appointed the exclusive European dealer for the Taiwan-built brand Hylas Yachts.

Wickgren adds: “This is the beginning of a serious movement toward sustainable, long-range electric boating in the UK. And with Vortec Marine leading the way, we’re in very capable hands.”
