Tradition has played an important part in 18ft skiff racing’s history, so it’s fortunate for the Australian 18 Footers League to have had many competitors, over the past 91 years, who have come down to the park each week to race their boats.

Hosted by Tayside Radio Sailing Club at Forfar Loch, the first MYA Scottish District IOM Travellers event of 2026 was held. Twelve skippers assembled for the event from five clubs all over Scotland and one skipper from the south of England.

The 2026 HD Sails Scottish Streaker Travellers Series got under way on April 18th at the Clyde Cruising Club venue at Bardowie Loch north of Glasgow, shared with the Solo traveller.

The 2026 Changshu Shanghu International Elite regatta was hosted on Shanghu lake, a 2 hour drive from Shanghai. 20 teams from 14 nations competed in Fareast 23 keelboats, with many world and national champions present within the fleet.

Twenty-three boats made the annual Fireball jaunt to Draycote for the Spring Championship. Numbers were a little down on last year, perhaps reflecting a reluctance to travel with diesel nudging £2 a litre, and a busy Fireball calendar.
