Thirteen K6 entered this year’s National Championship with entrants travelling from across England to compete over three days in Weymouth Bay, superbly hosted by Weymouth Sailing Club. The forecast looked good with winds strengthening over the weekend.

The final Plym Yacht Club Friday Series finished this week, concluding the Summer evening series’ in Plymouth. Sponsored by Yacht Havens, 22 boats sailed across both fleets.

The 2026 World Championship for the RC44s will take place next week on the Solent, out of Cowes, where the high performance one design class is once again being hosted by the Royal Yacht Squadron and Team Aqua owner Chris Bake.

It was once again the perfect race for Sam Goodchild. After taking the lead from the start in the Groix channel, Macif Santé Prévoyance rounded both marks of the race’s 560-mile grand triangle course in first place.

Despite an abundance of patience, the wind never stabilized to the point that the Race Committee for the 2026 Women’s International Championship presented by State Street Investment Management and SPY was comfortable sending the sailors up the course.

The Mistral set the tone once again for the third and penultimate day of racing at the 23rd Rolex Swan Cup, blowing at 16 knots for the opening starts and reaching 22 knots, with gusts of 25, during the closing stages on the windward-leeward course.

From September 26 through October 4, Saint-Tropez will once again transform into the world capital of yachting, pulsing to the rhythm of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, organised by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez.

Today was not for the faint-hearted – 30-knot gusts greeted 40 boats from the exciting new breed of boats from the Hartley Boats stable: 27 Zeniths, six Zens and seven Zenith IIs.
