The annual Illuminis RS Vareo open for 2025 took place later in the year than normal over the weekend of 27/28 September with a training day on the Friday before the weekend racing. This was event 5 of the Rooster National Tour.

Congratulations to Ollie Groves and Esther Parkhurst (Beaver SC) for winning the 2025 Trident UK Northern Tour. To be fair with four event wins and a second place they had the title wrapped up in June after the event at Carsington.

Finally the breeze dared to enter double figures, the building southwesterly bending around the coast and across the Baie de Pampelonne for the penultimate day of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.

Yet more sunshine at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez today with the maritime air mass counterpointed by an E’ly breeze enabling the 19 categories competing in the Maxi, Modern and Tradition categories to dance to a new tune.

The last weekend in September saw Contenders gather for the ninth and penultimate open meeting of 2025 at a class favourite of Castle Cove Sailing Club at a shared event with the Ospreys.

Summer becoming a distant memory, local sailors returned home after a summer competing in various class championships, it was time to return familiar surroundings to battle for the Autumn cup club championships at FGSC.

Once again the Scottish Solo fleet travelled to Dalgety Bay Sailing Club for the last event of the 2025 series. The event would be part of the Club’s Regatta and part of the Sailjuice northern series but the Solos would have their own class start.
