On 5th and 6th September 2026, the rescheduled Fireball Munster Championship was held in Monkstown having been postponed due to significant Nationwide fuel protests and blockades in April.

A schedule of three races was planned to draw the championship to a close on Sunday. A light and flukey breeze, along with some nice swell, was in store for the fleet.

To avoid a significant soft patch directly off Porto Cervo, the second day saw all six classes dispatched northwest on coastal courses of varying lengths, around the La Maddalena archipelago, to make the most of the available wind.

Vasco Passanha got off to a flying start at the J/70 Worlds in Cascais, claiming victory in the opening race. The Clube Naval de Cascais sailor emerged victorious from a highly competitive fleet of 100 boats.

The Preliminary Series concluded today at the 2026 ILCA 6 Women’s World Championship, with two races completed as scheduled, bringing the total to five. Racing started at 12:00 as planned, in strong conditions of 18-24 knots and a small swell.

Day four of the Noble Marine RS800 Nationals brought lighter and more stable wind with a decent following sea sparkling under the sun of the English Riviera.

A light Mistral wind of up to 15 knots accompanied all the Maxi classes today on a coastal race that regaled participants and spectators with the stunning sight of the entire fleet’s colourful gennakers converging in the La Maddalena channel.

The seventh day of The Ocean Race Atlantic sees the top four crews sailing fast in close formation as they attempt to skirt around the northern edge of the high pressure system that had slowed them yesterday with persistent light winds.
