The latest round of the Sanders Sails Travellers series took the Class back to Oxford Sailing Club on Saturday 22 August, a joint event with the Solo and British Moth fleets. Eight visitors joined two home boats to compete in 3 races during the day.

The 1970s was a wonderful decade of evolution in the 18 footers, with strong international fleets, an incredible level of talented competitors and designers, as well as some brilliant competition in World championship regattas.

One week from today, six of the world’s leading offshore sailing teams will depart New York City for the inaugural edition of The Ocean Race Atlantic, a new transatlantic race with six teams competing including two new generation IMOCA boats.

Racing got underway today at the 2026 ILCA 7 Men’s World Championship in Dún Laoghaire, with the first three races of the qualifying series completed.

The event will be hosted by the Yacht Club of Greece at Olympic Marine, close to Athens. The Yacht Club of Greece is one of the great names in Mediterranean sailing.
