Kiwis hit 50kts on a bleak mid-winter’s day

Emirates Team NZ took on winter’s worst on the Hauraki Gulf on Wednesday in a four-hour sail, in winds that topped 35kts during rain squalls and an air temperature of 15°C. In a video released after the session, the team said they clocked over 50kts.
