Dutch boat trailer manufacturer Vanclaes Boat Trailers has established Vanclaes Boat Trailers UK Ltd and acquired a factory in Poole to fulfil orders for its stainless-steel boat trailers in the UK.
The new operation has a dedicated UK team covering sales, operations, manufacturing and support. It will provide local stock and parts, distribution, warranty support and customer service for UK customers and dealers.
The company says the move will reduce the impact of cross-border logistics on deliveries and provide quicker access to trailers and parts. Vanclaes previously manufactured its trailers in Alphen aan den Rijn in the Netherlands and has developed trailer hubs within Europe to reduce delivery times.

The UK operation will manufacture the Vanclaes UK Spec Trailer, which is designed for the British market. The trailer has four interchangeable boat support systems: Keel & Kim support, carpeted bunks, a Wave multi-roller system and a GYRO adjustable roller bed.
Progressive coil spring suspension is standard on all braked trailers, while unbraked trailers have waterproof oil-filled hubs. Fully integrated waterproof LED lighting removes the need for removable lightboards.
The UK-spec trailer has full European type approval for cross-border towing or export. It uses corrosion-proof stainless-steel construction, which Vanclaes says is available at the same price as a galvanised trailer.

Stian Duijvelaar, managing director and chief product developer, says, “Quality no longer comes at a premium. As well as creating jobs for British people, our UK-based customers finally gain full access to stainless steel trailers with proven quality and reliability at matched UK market prices. We’re actively growing our UK dealer network and looking forward to new collaborations over the coming months.
In a separate statement, Duijvelaar, Vanclaes Boat Trailers Group CEO, says, “We’re proud to have established our UK Ltd company, and are excited to bring the complete, unrestricted Vanclaes experience to this market. We believe our trailers are the best, and have seen continued success across Europe because of the product and service we offer.”
In a media statement issued before its appearance at the 2026 Southampton Boat Show, Vanclaes says Brexit-related import challenges, currency fluctuations and shipping costs have historically made its trailers more expensive in the UK than in mainland Europe. The company says its UK manufacturing and distribution operation will reduce these costs and make trailers and parts available locally.
